Baptism at Elevation Point
What Is Baptism?
Baptism is a symbolic monument in the elevation of your spiritual journey. It speaks to others that God has made a way in your life where there wasn't one before. He has helped you enter into a place He has been preparing for you. Baptism is an outward sign of an inward faith. Like any other sign, it points to something beyond itself, namely, that you have allowed God to do a new work in you by forgiving your disobedience and transforming you into one of his wholehearted followers.
Why Should I Be Baptized?
Jesus Christ set the example of obedience to God the Father by being baptized at the beginning of his public ministry (Matthew 3:13-17). He later commissioned his disciples to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them and teaching how to be obedient to God the Father (Matthew 28:18-20). In the first church, one of Jesus' followers, Peter, taught that turning from disobedience and choosing baptism is the full response to receiving God's forgiveness (Acts 2:38-41).
